Bogwing appeared in the 1980 film called Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. Bogwings are flying non-sapient reptavian creatures native to the swamps and jungles of planet Dagobah. Bogwings have four large clawed paws, a fine pair of wings and a rather long tail. They are highly territorial predators and hunt small creatures that live in the canopy. They use their front paws to kill and carry their prey.
Bogwings build nests in trees. They are born small and defenseless, and their nestlings are sometimes eaten by small fauna, such as the Spade-headed Smooka.
