The Baseball Monger appeared in 1981 TV series called Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan. Baseball Monger (ヤキュウモンガー Yakyū Mongā, 7) is an umpire/baseball-themed Monger of the Machine Empire Black Magma. Baseball Monger is created off a suggestion of Queen Hedrian for Black Magma to create a star using their corruptive methods in order to raise them up to prominence and then use their destructive power to influence and destroy society. The Monger assists a Dark Q scientist in a plan to turn Shuichi Takase, an aspiring high school baseball player, into a beastial ballplayer using a shower that enhances his brute strength but also potentially mutates him into a monster. When Shuichi is ultimately saved by a girl who wanted him to regain his kindness he lost for partaking in the mutation, Baseball Monger begins to attack with Sun Vulcan protecting them. The team ultimately defeat its tactics and destroy it first with the Sun Vulcan Ball, then with Sun Vulcan Robo once its Expansion Program activates.
